Note about range: The range shown is achieved by the manufacture under optimum conditions and location (over water). Typical outdoor range for all Gmrs radios is around 1-5 miles on flat land, less range in mountains. Often 1/2 mile (.4Km) or less in a downtown urban area. Gmrs radio range can vary greatly depending on many factors. A range of one mile per watt is also typical on flat, open land. Five watts is the current maximum power allowed by the FCC.
